morning weakness

Both were convinced
of a surge of passion between them.
Such certainty is beautiful
but uncertainty is more beautiful still.

When love is uncertain
it mingles in with pain and longing
more beautiful yes
but sadly only in the vein of tragedies.

The holidays approach and I'm slipping back into a whimsical mood.
